Which is better, VMWare or Hyper-V?

This question used to be an easy one and the answer would be VMware, however in recent years I have heard many people say the opposite. Hyper v has come a long way in the last few years and often I hear it being recommended over VMware. One of the reasons is down to its familiarity with users that mainly work on the Windows Server platforms. I still work with VMware and personally think it's still the best virtual platform. Another interesting option that not a lot of people think of is XenServer.

My Education

I have a degree in Software engineering which I achieved at Brighton University in 2005. I have also achieved numerous other computer science qualifications during my time at college and university. I continue to challenge myself with courses to improve my knowledge and skills and I have just completed an Advanced C++ course.

I am able to offer a wide range of services including support, web design and consultation services. I have a very good knowledge about how to maintain a good working network infrastructure and have experience in the challenges that need to be overcome to achieve this. One huge benefit of working in an educational environment is educational licensing! You have the advantage of being exposed to many of the cutting edge technologies that are horribly expensive without educational discounts.

If you require advice on larger projects that you might have planned, I am able to offer my experience and help with the implementation. I have accumulated many contacts in the industry and I am able to supply and implement any equipment and solution that you require.

What is my dream job?

Working at NASA. I love everything about space! Unfortunately I am no rocket scientist but the question was "What is my dream job?" so dream I shall! In my spare time you can find me at the galactic core in my Annaconda (Elite Dangerous)
